The second I opened this month’s Vogue I knew exactly what I would be doing with my weekend. The inside cover features a fold-out Louis Vuitton ad with 9 models looking geisha-chic and each wearing the same pair of long black fringe earrings. Follow along below for a quick DIY to make your own pair.

Cut a two inch section of your fringe.
Take one of the earring posts and push it into the top of the fringe, about 1/4 of the way across (so .5 inches in)
Fold the top portion of your fringe so the two ends meet, covering the earring post
Sew back and forth over this top portion, making X shapes around the post so it stays in place. Also be sure to sew the raw ends of the fringe that you cut or else it will unravel.
Trim to desired length. I thought 11 inches was a bit long for me since I’m a midge. I trimmed mine so they would fall right by my collar bone.
